Hey y'all! Welcome back to the blog! This Sunday, my family and I participated in the JDRF One Walk. This is our second year attending; but last year was COVID-friendly and less lively. This year, was so exciting! JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) puts on an annual One Walk per chapter to raise money for Type One Diabetes research. JDRF hosts many events and opportunities throughout the year and I cannot wait to participate in more and bring some friends along too! But for now, I'll share with you this year's One Walk.
As apart of the North Carolina chapter, the 2022 One Walk was at the Koka Booth Amphitheater in Cary, North Carolina. The venue was amazing and suiting the event very well. So many T1D's, their family, and friends showed up!
When we arrived, we were greeted by JDRF volunteers with beaded necklaces color based by our relationship with T1D. I also received a cape, that I wore for the T1D Warrior Procession. We then went around to all the different sponsor tables and learned more information and got some goodies.

Next, all the diabetics were gathered together to
walk down the row and on the stage according to the number of years we've had T1D. We wore our capes and many pictures and videos were taken.
Then, was the actual walk. Behind the stage was a large pond in which we walked around. Many people joined in on this activity. It was long, but very enjoyable.
Lastly, my sister and I joined the T-shirt contest. People go full out with their t-shirts every year. This year, we did not win, although we have great plans for nexts year's shirt.
Following the event, there was an after party with a band and food trucks!
Thank you for tuning in for this post! I hope you enjoyed it! I cannot wait to hear back from some applications I have made for JDRF Children's Congress, Advocacy, Ambassador and more! Until next time!
XOXO,
Whitley♡
